TIME TO SUBMIT CALL FOR GOOD PRACTICES FOR GUNi BARCELONA CONFERENCE MAY 13-15, 2013

The Barcelona International Conference on Higher Education, Knowledge and Engagement will be the place to be in May.  We are hoping to see lots of participants from all the networks.  Check out the conference site as well.  


THIRD WORLD FORUM ON SCIENCE AND DEMOCRACY, TUNIS, MARCH 23-25


The World Forum on Science and Democracy (WFSD) is an initiative launched in 2007 to promote political dialogue between scientific institutions and social actors on Science and Society issues at a global level.

The WFSD proposes two ways to deal with these aspects:

  • a forum to help scientific and social actors to dialogue about shared interests, issues and concerns.
  • a process to facilitate and enlighten collective dynamics, actions, initiatives or thoughts about Science and Democracy or Science and Society issues.

 

The next forum will take place in Tunis from March 23rd to March 25th, 2013.


MACJANNET PRIZE IN STUDENT COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT – NOMINATIONS DUE FEB 8


The MacJannet Prize recognizes exceptional student civic engagement initiatives based in Talloires Network member universities around the world and contributes financially to their ongoing public service efforts. In 2013, three programs will receive awards: 1st Prize ($7,500), 2nd Prize ($5,000), and 3rd Prize ($2,500). Winning programs will be profiled on the Talloires Network website and in communications that reach thousands of higher education contacts world-wide.

Only programs originating from member institutions of the Talloires Network are eligible for the Prize. Nominations will be accepted from students, faculty, staff, or administrators at member institutions. Up to two programs may be nominated from each institution.




COPERNICUS ALLIANCE MEETS AT GUNI BARCELONA MAY 13 ON "PEOPLE'S SUSTAINABILITY TREATY ON HIGHER EDUCATION


The Copernicus Alliance and UNU IAS are co-hosting a side event at the GUNi Conference (see  attached). We hope that you find it of interest and can join us on the 13th of May in the morning.

We look forward to meeting you in Barcelona at this so exciting Conference.
