Following several years of strong domestic growth and international expansion, the Faculty of Business and Law (FBL) is seeking to appoint an innovative specialist in Work Based Learning to join our Human Resource Management and Organisational Behaviour Subject Group.

The successful candidate will be expected to design and deliver effective teaching, learning and assessment strategies for a range of work-based modules at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. The post involves travel in order to supervise students on placement, and the post holder may be expected to undertake international travel to partner institutions.

This post has been created in response to the growth of work-based learning provision at postgraduate level in the Faculty, and requires understanding and/or experience of blended and online learning. Candidates will have experience of supervising research at postgraduate level in work-based contexts. The post may also involve supervision of undergraduate placement students, as well as face to face teaching of full-time students in part-time work.

The Faculty is one of four in the University of Northampton. Our commitment to be an internationally-facing university that delivers life-changing opportunities for our students through innovation, initiative, empathy and enterprise for positive social change was recognised in 2013 when we were the first in the UK to achieve AshokaU Changemaker Campus status. These distinctive values are reflected in the Faculty’s research, enterprise and teaching and embodied in our leadership at all levels. In 2018 the University will move to the new and prestigious Waterside campus near the heart of Northampton, providing exciting and innovative opportunities for growth and partnerships.

A Masters degree is essential for this post, and a Doctoral qualification is desirable. Knowledge and/or experience of work-based learning is essential. Applications from candidates with experience of work-based and related learning in subjects other than Business and Law would be welcomed.

Experience of programme leadership, distance learning and learning technologies, in addition to practical work-based experience would also be strongly advantageous.

It is highly likely that this post will involve collaboration with international partners and/or international travel.

We offer a pleasant, supportive working environment; moreover, you will be part of a continuing success story and will share in the accolades that follow.

Interview Dates: Friday 21 April 2017 and Tuesday 2 May 2017

This is an exciting time to join our University as we prepare to relocate to a new state of the art, vibrant, town centre campus in 2018. We are looking to recruit individuals who share our passion for innovation, creativity and social impact and who will play a key role as we realise our ambition of TRANSFORMING LIVES + INSPIRING CHANGE.

We are an AshokaU accredited Changemaker University that believes in providing students and staff with the opportunity to change their world for the better.

All candidates will be asked to provide proof of eligibility to work in the UK at interview.

The University of Northampton as an employer strives to achieve diversity among its staff which reflects the communities it serves.

Best wishes,

Lucy
