The Centre for Open Learning at the University of Edinburgh is looking for a new External Examiner

An opportunity that has arisen for an external examiner at the University of Edinburgh. Interested candidates should send a current CV and a brief paragraph highlighting their applicable experience to Jenny Hoy.

The Centre for Open Learning at the University of Edinburgh is looking for a new External Examiner to take over from the current post holder who demits from October 2020. 

The duties will include oversight of our Humanities courses both within our popular Short Courses Programme and our unique International Foundation Programme. The role will cover multiple disciplines such as Literature, History, Art History, Archaeology and Creative Writing. An academic background in the Humanities will be required and recent experience of learning and teaching in an adult education setting would be expected. As per the University of Edinburgh’s External Examiner’s for Taught Progammes Policy, candidates should normally be resident in the United Kingdom and able to attend a minimum of one Board of Examiners per year in person.
