Lectureship in Adult Education - University of Glasgow
Details of a new post within the School of Education at the University of Glasgow, the European base of PASCAL are found here. The person appointed will join an expanding staff grouping in the field of post-compulsory education.
The Main Duties and Responsibilities are as follows:
- Develop and maintain individual/joint research projects in the subject areas of Adult Education and Community Development and related subject areas and, where appropriate, to secure external funding required to support research.
- Contribute fully to developing and enhancing the research profile of the subject areas of Adult Education and Community Development and related subject areas, including establishing a track record of high quality publications.
- Attendance and participation in appropriate research seminars/conferences relevant to research and teaching.
- Responsible for the supervision and training of postgraduate research students to ensure their effective development.
- Contribute to the planning, organisation and delivery of teaching activities in accordance with School undergraduate and postgraduate programmes––including Programme Leadership for PGDip/MSc Teaching Adults and MSc Adult and Continuing Education.
- Supervise individual student projects and assist with difficulties e.g. learning support/problems.
- Contribute to the ongoing development and design of the curriculum, in a manner that supports a research–led approach to student learning.
- Assess (using a variety of methods and techniques) assignments and exam papers and provide effective, timely and appropriate feedback to students to support their learning.
- Engage in professional development as appropriate.
- Undertake administrative activities as required by the Head of School––including Placement Coordination strategic management for PGDip/MSc in Teaching Adults.
