Scoping Report – University of Virginia – Lesley Doyle

1. UVa was invited to take advantage of the PURE benchmarking tool through the School of Continuing and Professional Studies. Funded by PASCAL, this was in advance of the new interest group, members of which will also be able to use the benchmarking.
2. During a recent visit, the Dean of the Faculty and various key staff were shown the benchmarking tool and its application was discussed. Three staff took the tool away to use with their projects: the Assistant Dean of the Faculty, the U21 representative of the Curry School of Education and the Director of UVa’s flagship economic development project in South West Virginia which has three strands: K-12; health and engineering
3. UVa’s Weldon Cooper Centre provides research expertise to the state of Virginia and John Thomas the Director agreed to utilise parts of the benchmarking tool the work of the Centre.
