As a member of the International Advisory Board for the Global Education Conference, I would like to draw you attention to this growing event, which will take place November 12-17, 2012.

The Global Education Conference is a collaborative, inclusive, world-wide community initiative involving students, educators, and organisations at all levels. It is designed to significantly increase opportunities for building education-related connections around the globe while supporting cultural awareness and recognition of diversity. Last year’s conference featured 340 general sessions and 18 keynote addresses from all over the world with over 10,000 participants.

The conference seeks to present ideas, examples, and projects that help connect educators and classrooms, with a strong emphasis on promoting global awareness, fostering global competency, and inspiring action towards solving real–world problems.

Game-based learning and game design are currently hot education topics, and I am delighted to inform you that Technology Enhanced Learning (TEL) and virtual learning environments will take centre stage at this year’s event, though the conference is not focused on technology exclusively. There are opportunities to explore policy, pedagogy and practice.

The entire conference is free (always a bonus!) and will be held online using the Blackboard Collaborate platform (formerly known as Elluminate/Wimba). Sessions will be held through varying time zones and in multiple languages.

Kind regards,

Lee
